Ephesians 1

1Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints who are at Ephesus, the faithful in Christ Jesus: 2Grace to you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ. 3Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with all spiritual blessings in the heavenly places: 4Just as he has chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him. In love 5He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ, according to his good pleasure and will, 6To the praise of his glorious grace, which he freely bestowed upon us in the beloved. 7In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; 8Which he has lavished upon us in all wisdom and prudence; 9Having made known to us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he set forth in him: 10That in the fulness of time he might gather all things together under Christ, both things which are in heaven, and things which are on earth. In him 11We have also obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things after the counsel of his own will: 12That we who first trusted in Christ should live for the praise of his glory. 13In him you also, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: having also believed, you were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, 14Who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession, to the praise of his glory. 15Therefore, I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love for all the saints, 16Do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers; 17That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: 18That the eyes of your heart may be enlightened; so you may know what is the hope of his calling, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, 19And what is the incomparable greatness of his power toward us who believe. It is the working of his mighty power, 20Which he exerted in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, 21Far above all rule, and authority, and power, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come. 22And he has put all things under his feet, and has appointed him to be the head over all things for the church, 23Which is his body, the fulness of him who fills all things everywhere.
